Baby Advance Hearing Test

Baby hearing tests are done right after the baby is born, which help to determine if the baby has any kind of hearing problems. This is an important test as hearing issues can slow down a baby’s development and impede her future ability to speak, learn, and understand languages. Thus, it is necessary that the hearing tests be done as early as possible.

Types Of Hearing Tests Available

Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR)

Also known as Brainstem Auditory Evoked Response (BAER), this is a helpful test to determine the child’s ability to hear. By detecting the baby’s brainwaves with the help of a special computer, the audiologist will be able to measure the way in which the child’s hearing nerve is responding to various sounds.

Otoacoustic Emissions (OAE)

This hearing test can detect any kind of obstacles in the outer ear canal. It can also identify the presence of ear fluid in the middle ear canal and if there is any damage to the outer hair cells.
